Communities Helping Communities

One of our main outreach goals at Christ Church Trumbull is to feed the hungry and clothe the needy. We do that in a variety of ways. Highlighted below are the organizations that we support to feed those in need.

  • Calvary St. George Community Supper

Calvary St. George's feeds the hungry every Monday night of the year. Local churches share this outreach and Christ Church Trumbull hosts two suppers during the year. In 2024 we may add a third date too. Thank you for supporting this important and meaningful mission ... we couldn't do this without you!

We are currently preparing for the January 29th supper where we will prepare 70 bagged dinners.

At this time, we are in need of individually-wrapped chips, cookies, or pretzels.

If you would like to donate these items, please drop them off to the Uppercroft by Sunday, January 21st.

For the main part of our supper, we are purchasing sandwiches from Jennie's Restaurant. If you would like to help offset this cost, you are welcome to donate directly to CCT. You can give by check or cash. If giving by check, please make your check payable to "Christ Church Trumbull" with "Community Supper" in the memo section. If giving cash, please write "Community Supper" on the envelope. You can drop your donation in this Sunday's collection plate, the donation box in the Uppercroft, or drop it in our outside mailbox (which is secure).

All are welcome to help as we assemble the bagged dinners on Sunday, January 28th after the 10am worship service.

Thank you all so much for your support and compassion for those in need.

  • Trumbull Food Pantry

Christ Church works hand in hand with the local community through our partnership with the Trumbull Food Pantry providing much needed non-perishable items for needy families. In November we donate turkeys and the fixings to help families have a delicious Thanksgiving meal.

During the year, we have collection baskets at church and parishioners donate to help those in need on an ongoing basis.

  • St. John's Food Pantry

Collaborating with St. John's and the Greater Bridgeport Ministry Network in Bridgeport, Christ Church collects specific food items each year for Thanksgiving meals for needy families. This outreach helps nearly 250 families each year!
