Matthew began his journey as a Church musician at the age of four, when he joined his father’s children choir with a congregation in Long Island. Since then, he has served as a member of multiple choirs, assisted behind the altar for many services, and gave his first sermon at the age of thirteen.
Before joining Christ Church, Matthew was hired as a tenor for the Cathedral Parish of Bridgeport Schola. This professional quartet specialized in singing Latin chant, motets, and classical music each Sunday.
He has also received extensive training as a voice teacher, having completed New York Vocal Coaching’s Voice Teacher Training in 2016, taught by international voice technician Justin Stoney. Matthew currently teaches full time with the studio, and continues to receive mentorship from Justin.
As well as being an organist, pianist, and singer, Matthew has performed as a dancer and actor in many productions across the North East. His understanding of many artforms influences his relationship and passion for the music he creates with Christ Church every Sunday.
Matthew believes strongly that it is important to express oneself and “Make a Joyful Noise” with the voice. He is grateful to be a member of the Christ Church Family, serving as a part of this musical and spiritual journey with the congregation!
