A bit more about Danny …

GRAMMY®-nominated pianist Danny Zelibor, praised for his sensitive and colorful playing, is a sought-after collaborator and performer. His recent debut album “In This Short life” with mezzo-soprano Devony Smith, featuring all new American works by leading composers, earned the duo their first GRAMMY®-nomination. He made his Carnegie Hall debut with baritone Jarrett Ott and has performed in recital with leading musicians including singers Harolyn Blackwell and Karim Sulayman, violinist Pinchas Zukerman, and cellists Amanda Forsyth, Brant Taylor, and Robert DeMaine. An ardent lover of art song, he frequently performs with Brooklyn Art Song Society and New York Festival of Song and has recorded world premieres of songs by Jake Heggie, Jennifer Higdon, and Mark Adamo. On the cutting edge of new music, he has helped commission several new American works, as well as workshopped and premiered dozens of works in the opera and art songs spaces with composers ranging from David Lang, Kamala Sankaram, Matthew Ricketts, and Eve Beglarian, among many others.

In 2026, along with the artistic team of “Project Creatine”, he received the prestigious Creative Capital grant for their new opera inspired by the life and artistry of tenor and drag personality Jordan Weatherston Pitts / Creatine Price. The work represents a genre-bending and defining journey into what opera can be. A true believer in the power of music to be a bridge and a force for good, he joined baritone Sidney Outlaw on a concert tour and series of masterclasses in The Republic of Chad sponsored by the U.S. State Department, and he recently performed in his first series of Well-Being Concerts at Carnegie Hall with cellist Joshua Roman and violinist Simon Porter.

Danny’s debut CDs for Toccata Classics, the beginning of a multi-volume set of the piano music of Alexaandre Tansman, have received widespread praise from top music publications. A fellow of Tanglewood and graduate of Manhattan School of Music, Danny resides in New York City.

Danny has long held a church position, first at Ridglea Christian Church in his hometown Fort Worth, TX – and now for several years at Christ Church Tashua. Being part of the Christ Church community is one of his greatest joys.
